I'm looking for menu and decorating ideas for a summer party. I guess about 30-35 people will attend. I really don't want to do the usual summer beach party, bbq or luau party. What else is there? Thanks!

What a great question! We have listed three different ideas for you below.

Red Party

Why not take a page out of P.Diddy's book? Instead of a "White" party, try
a "Red" party! Start the evening off greeting your guests with some cool
red cocktails.

Red Light
1/2 shot Grand Marnier Rouge
1/2 shot white rum
1 dash real lemon (or plain old squeezed lemon)
1/2 shot orange juice
1/2 shot cranberry juice

Shake with ice in a cocktail shaker.
Strain into a cocktail glass.
Decorate with a red cherry

Have the room decorated with vases filled with small bunches of red roses
and the tables covered with a satin red linen. The sounds of Sade playing
in the background and a delectable red menu, you will take your guests
breath away!

Red Snapper
Cream of Tomato Soup Canapé
Red Strawberries with Whip cream

Indian Summer

Take your guests to the ancient streets of India, without ever leaving your own backyard! Wooden vase centerpieces filled with incenses and beautiful silk saris used as table runners, the sounds of the tabla and sitar playing in the background, your guests will feel as though the Taj Mahal is around the corner! Serve your guests and exotic Indian cocktail, to cool their mouths from the Indian spices!

The Mumbai Heat
1 shot of Smirnoff vodka
1 shot of litchi syrup
Top up with soda

Butter Chicken in Square Shot Glass
Vegetarian Somasas
Curried Lamb Skewers

Ocean Nights

With the cool sounds of Frank Sinatra in the background, bring your guests to the ocean, as we near the end of our summer nights. Treat them to a fantastic menu from the sea.

Golded Beet with crème fraiche and sevruga caviar
Jumbo Shrimp Stuffed with Garlic Butter
Terrine of Fresh and Smoked Salmon

For décor ideas, fill a tall glass cylinder with water and sand at bottom and for a finishing touch, buy some white fish! Makes for a fantastic centerpiece and guests get to take home a new pet! Finish the evening off with some refreshing drinks, and remember to always have some non-alcoholic for the drivers!

The Pearl
1/2 shot of Vodka
1/2 shot of Asian Pear Liqueur
1/2 shot of Soho Lychee Liqueur
Garnished with a lychee on an acrylic skewer

The Coral Reef (non-alcoholic)
6 large strawberries
Slice of pineapple
Juice of 1/2 orange
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 dashes fraise (strawberry syrup)
Sugar

Blend ingredients with some cracked ice cubes in a blender until frothy.
Pour into a Highball glass with the rim frosted with sugar. Garnish with a
strawberry.
