In Ayurveda, Fasting is considered to be one of the ayurvedic remedies to cure different kinds of ailments and illnesses. The human body is brought into a state of inertia as reactions and impulses tend to slow down and lessen. The fasting therapy was approved by intellectuals like Socrates, Charaka and Aristotle. Fasting is recommended for diagnoses of ailments. Problems such as obesity can be controlled to an extent by fasting therapy planned by a physician.
