We are renting maragrita machine and need to know how much alcohol to buy (the rental place did not know!)
These are 3 gallons on each side (round cylinders) and each cylinder serves 20-30 drinks. You use 1/2 gal of water to 1/2 gal of mix . . . then replace some of the water (1/2 or so) with alcohol

The rule of thumb is 1 drink per guest per hour, so 150 x say a 6 hour event for example, would be 900 drinks, divided by the number of items being offered, assuming they are offering Wine, beer and margarita, it works out to 300 of each. This works out to 5 cases of wine, 12.5 cases of beer, and 300 cocktails, at a 2 oz drink, you would need 23 x 26oz bottles of tequila. I would suggest going heavier on the wine and beer, always more popular, and not everyone will drink tequila. Always air on the side of caution, you can return anything that is unopened.
